Our Recommendations!

Emma Porteus, Artistic Director of Stompin recommends: This years Junction Arts Festival is set to be a cracker! My number 1 hot tip is to see ‘en route’ if you missed it last year. ‘en route’ allows you to re-imagine Launceston and find beauty in unexpected places. Its a personal, physical journey that is one of the best things Ive see/participated in in years. Beyond that there is a whole world of new art experiences Im excited to partake in. Namely: ‘The Stream/The Boat/The Shore/The Bridge’, ‘Blindscape’, ‘A Western’, ‘Watch Me Fall’ and ‘Beep Test of Imaginary Beings’ For families, the ‘Dogs and Boats and Airplanes Children’s Choir’ is a must see, and of course don’t forget festival favourites like ‘So You Think You Can Interpretative Dance’. If live shows are not your thing then there is always The Junc Room, packed to the brim with choice live music and food. What a great way to welcome in Spring! I really encourage you to support this Festival. What makes Junction so special is not just that it is located in Launceston; it that it’s made WITH the Launceston community. Junction 2013 encourages community participation in so many ways, shapes and forms and THIS is what makes it extraordinary. Get out there, see some art and live music, become inspired and celebrate what a vibrant place Launceston can be. -By Emma Porteus, Artistic Director, Stompin Www.junctionartsfestival.com.au Thanks Emma! And We can’t wait yo see what you have in store for ‘So You Think You Can Interpretive Dance’.
