As part of the celebrations, Junction will be holding a free forum in conjunction with the University of Tasmania on Thursday 3 September on issues to do with how the arts and culture contribute to a vibrant Northern Tasmania. The forum will be moderated by Professor Stephen Loo, Director Creative Exchange Institute, University of Tasmania, and Board Member, Junction Arts Festival.

125th Anniversary Advisory Chair Professor David Rich is delighted that the University of Tasmania is able to continue strengthening its relationship with the Tasmanian community and said, "We are delighted to be partnering with Junction in Launceston, reflecting our joint commitment to arts and culture in the North." In celebration of this Junction Arts Festival is inviting University of Tasmania Alumni to attend the Festival during Welcome Home Week, and receive a 15% discount on select performances throughout the festival.
