Thomas Fowkes
Thomas Fowkes writes simple, heartfelt, acoustic joys. Music to move you. Expect a truly intimate performance from this local talent who will transform the Junc-Room with his humble yet compelling songs and soaring vocals. Summer Edmunds
Guitar melodies with a touch of piano are all that accompany Summer’s soulful voice, as she captivates audiences with her intimate storytelling. This Launceston indie-pop princess has toured nationally and supported big names such as The Basics (Gotye), Jordie Lane and Elixir (Katie! Noonan). Summer is an enchanting ballad master who entwines thoughtful lyrics around clever, infectious melodies.

Tiffany Eckhardt and Dave Steel
A dynamic duo of the Australian folk and blues music scene, Tiffany Eckhardt and Dave Steel, recently relocated to Franklin in Tassie’s South. Tiffany has written and recorded seven successful independent releases, while Dave has been writing songs and making albums for the past 20 years. Dave has played and toured with some of Australia’s best!known artists, including Weddings Parties Anything, Archie Roach, Kasey Chambers and Kavisha Mazzella. Together, this talented husband and wife team, capture the essence of country living through songs to stomp your feet and shake your hips to. Honest, humorous and uplifting – this is original Australian music at its very best.

Heart Beach
Heart Beach are an ocean pop band that play sad minimal Hobartian skuzz music. The sublime live performances of Jonathon McCarthy on guitar and vocals, Clair Jansen on vocals and bass, and Christopher Wessing on drums and guitar, have earned them fans from all over the world. Heart Beach have toured Australia and New Zealand !including performing at the prestigious festival Camp A Low Hum. Triple J recently named Heart Beach as one of Unearthed’s 10 Quiet Achievers of 2015 and made them a coveted feature artist this year. Heart Beach’s self-titled debut LP, has been earning them admiration from near and far, with Everett True from the Guardian saying: “It takes a brave, thoughtful band to sound this vulnerable. Heart Beach are beautiful, beautiful, melancholy babies. Treasure them.”

The!Saxons
The Saxons are so hot right now. This 4-piece, indie rock outfit, consisting of Nick Bennett, Bradley Martin, Tom You'd and Josh Mcdonald-Davies, has come a long way from winning the State-wide Rock Challenge in 2014 for Launceston College. The Saxons have earned a reputation for their scintillating live performances and intricately crafted songs, which have been honed by sharing the stage with some of the finest local and national acts going around. Get ready for The Saxons to tear your hearts and eardrums apart in this showcase finale.


Music Tasmania will also be running a free workshop from 2-4pm on Thursday 3 September in the Junc Room with an interactive panel and keynote speakers who will provide insight into the industry and an opportunity to network with music executives.
