Each year, we invite artists from around the world and across Australia to temporarily reside in Launceston for anything from a week to several months to collaborate with the local community. Together they create unique performances and experiences made specifically for Launceston’s streets, buildings, alleyways and heritage sites to be presented in the Festival.

Last week, Thomas Quirk (who you might remember from Junction’s 2012 project The Pact) was in Launceston meeting community groups including the Launceston Walking Club, scouting sites, researching and further developing an exciting upcoming project for this year’s Festival. The piece explores tales from the North Bank of Launceston. This is a long-term developmental project about the transformation of the space and exemplifies our long term commitment to artist development and relationships.
