The Seed Swap is a place to bring seeds you’ve saved and take home something new to grow. Seeds are small acts of hope in the turning of the seasons, carried through the dark months for the promise of what’s to come, fitting for a swap held in the balance of the equinox.
Bring your own to share, swap stories with fellow growers, and leave with something new to plant when the time is right.
WONDERGROUND is a dedicated space for families and children, designed and brought to life by local visual artist and educator Laura Watts.
The space has grown over the year through Laura’s residency at West Launceston Primary, with generous support from the Tasmanian Community Fund, where she’s worked with students in grades 2 to 6 to develop the ideas behind it. Now she brings that same spirit into the festival hub, with an emphasis on nature, sensory play, and handmade keepsakes.
Rev your engines at the Vroom Vroom race track, build a hideout in Cubbyland, craft wound and woven keepsakes, mix up something magical at the apothecary, or whisper your worries to a Pocket Monster. Braver grown-ups can even let a pint-sized tattoo artist ink them up, temporarily, at Tatts by Kids. Badge-making, drawing, and make-one-take-one crafts round things out, because in Wonderground, every corner has something new to discover.
While our littlest festival-goers are busy making gallery-worthy artworks, accompanying adults are welcome to watch the magic unfold, roll up their sleeves and join in.

#youngtion is a launchpad for emerging musicians aged 14-18, giving them the spotlight to share original music with a welcoming festival audience. Guided by mentorship from Launceston’s music scene, it’s a non-competitive space to build confidence, gain live experience, and connect with fellow young creatives.
Junction acknowledges the Palawa people as the original and ongoing owners and custodians of Lutruwita. We pay our respects to elders past and present, and acknowledge that sovereignty has never been ceded.
