Fault Lines is a series of abstract paintings that explores identity and the hidden structures that shape our inner lives. Drawing on experiences of mental health, trauma, unconscious conditioning, and inherited belief systems, the work investigates the relationship between the self we present to the world and the self that exists beneath layers of adaptation and survival.
The title draws on the geological metaphor of fault lines—hidden points of pressure that can remain dormant for years before revealing themselves through rupture, displacement, or change. Repeated marks, textures, and accumulations of gesture speak to fractures, tensions, vigilance and the unseen forces that lie beneath the surface of experience.
Rather than offering fixed narratives, the works invite reflection on the visible and invisible forces that form us, the patterns we inherit, and the complexities of lived experiences.
