It’s kind of cold and wet outside, will the festival still go on?

Yes! Junction is here to liven up Launceston and the show must go on in rain, hail or shine. There are both indoor and outdoor events. We would recommend dressing for the conditions, a nice warm coat, scarf, beanie, gloves and wet weather gear is recommended. Rarely will shows be cancelled due to weather, but please check our Facebook page (for live updates) or pop into the Box Office in Prince's Square to ask one of our friendly staff.

What time does the event start and finish?

Junction is four days and nights of contemporary arts glory. It all kicks off on Wednesday 2 September and winds up on Sunday 6 September. For the four days of the Festival there are shows on day and night. Please check the program for more detailed information about times of show and events.

Is the event accessible, I have special needs?

Junction strives to make the Festival as accessible as possible. Given the nature of some events, on rare occasions there may be limited access. Further details will be listed on the event pages or feel free to contact us to confirm specific details of performances.

Will there be food and drink available at the festival or can I bring my own?

An excellent selection of Tasmanian food vans will be in Prince's Square throughout the Festival dates. Check the website for details. Feel free to bring your own picnic.

Food is not permitted inside ticketed shows.

Are all the shows suitable for children and for guardians with prams?

There are some adult only shows, but we do have plenty of family-friendly events suitable for youngsters. Junction aims to not only entertain the parents, but the babies and grandparents too. Please have a look at our program to find information on events. As for prams, we’ve got lots of space.

I love my pet; can they enjoy the art too?

We love pets too, however generally pets are not permitted to attend performances in formal venues. Please contact us for specific information regarding support animal/special access requirements.
