#youngtion is a launchpad for emerging musicians aged 14-18, giving them the spotlight to share original music with a welcoming festival audience. Guided by mentorship from Launceston’s music scene, it’s a non-competitive space to build confidence, gain live experience, and connect with fellow young creatives. Silt is more than earth carried by water, it is what remains after movement, what settles after change, and the foundation from which new life grows. Often unnoticed, silt enriches the landscape, creating fertile ground for growth, renewal, and possibility. This year Youngtion 2026 invites artists to explore the traces we leave behind and the experiences that shape us. Every performance is like a layer of silt: a small contribution that, over time, becomes part of something greater.
