Since 1981, Tasdance has been the flagship dance company of Lutruwita/Tasmania. The company has created over 200 works and supported the work of more than 100 choreographers. Tasdance has a rich history of creating innovative and thought-provoking works that resonate both locally and nationally. The company is dedicated to supporting independent artists, nurturing emerging talent, and delivering meaningful engagement through performance, education, and community programs.
Based on the banks of the Kanamulka River in Launceston, Tasdance is known for its bold collaborations and dynamic storytelling through movement. The company works across regional and urban spaces, bringing high-quality contemporary dance to diverse audiences and communities.
