The Fountain Bar | Friday

Je Bahl + Sundaze + Sumner + Hayley Couper

Friday nights have never sounded smoother, a night of sun-soaked deep beats, funk and electric sounds, reggae, psychedelic surf rock and 90’s inspired grooves.

Je Bahl is dance music project combining Disco, Funk and Psychedelia.

Musician Brandon Meyer grew up in the charming suburb of Summerhill, TAS. In his early life Brandon spent most of his time outside, growing up on bmx bikes, wakeboarding and punk-rock. His late teens saw him branch out into psychedelia, hiphop and jazz, soundtracking a whirlwind of exploration in life, love and relationships. Summertime has always been right around the corner for Brandon and his music soaks you in it.

SUNDAZE are a unique duo from northern Tasmania. Fletcher Bissett and Taylor Yates create their full band sound through combining swirling electric guitar with array of acoustic and digital drums and deep synth bass played simultaneously. Their style emits a reggae/psychedelic surf rock vibe, with a tinge of tribal house in the mix. SUNDAZE bring an infectious summer sound with rhythms that never fail to get a crowd groovin'!

Hayley Couper  began making music in Hobart her late teens. After fronting numerous bands, she launched a solo career in 2012 and her first release, 'Black and Blue', saw her win Triple J Unearthed and Amplified’s Solo Artist of the Year.

Couper relocated to Melbourne in 2013 and it was here that she produced and released two EPs, Ships in the Night and Turn to Wolves. These EPs received solid airplay on community radio stations such as 3RRR, PBS, and Triple J; and saw her perform at Falls Festival, St Kilda Festival and Melbourne Music Week as well as performing overseas with shows in London and Berlin.
