Guts, Grit & Lipstick: The Queens of Country

Ange Boxall

Tasmania’s very own country / pop singer-songwriter from the East Coast, Ange Boxall pays tribute to the 1970’s queens of country music including Dolly Parton, Loretta Lynn and Tammy Wynette.

With the rise of feminism throughout the 1970’s came the rise of some of the world’s most iconic female Country  stars. Songs Jolene, The Pill, Delta Dawn and many more pushed the boundaries of issues facing women. Birth control, philandering husbands, persistent mistresses, self-empowerment...

With years spent writing, recording and performing in Nashville, Tennessee, who better to pay tribute to the queens of country music than Tasmania’s very own Country / Pop Artist, Ange Boxall!
Join Ange and her fabulous four-piece band: led by Pete Cornelius on Guitars, Ben Franz (Melb) on Pedal Steel, Simon Holmes on Bass guitar and Beau Thomas on Drums, in the world premiere of this unmissable Country cabaret show.

"Now there's a Tasmanian Devil but Ange is the Tasmanian Angel... like hearing sunshine" - Multi-Grammy Award winner Jim Lauderdale (USA)
