The Festival starts with a bang and extraordinary Opening Night fanfare, Brazilian style!
Join us as we celebrate the opening of our 2015 Junction Arts Festival and kick-start five days of celebrations for our 5th birthday.
We open the Festival and welcome you to The Junc Room, one of our late night Festival Clubs with a dazzling mix of entertainment.
Formed in 2008, Chicada is an 18 piece community-based Samba band, and the first of its kind in Tasmania.
Bringing exciting rhythms, flavours and the drumming ‘bateria’ sounds from Brazil to Launceston, Chicada transports audience to the vibrant street sounds of Brazilian Carnival.
Bring your headdresses and dancing shoes, and expect a wild time!
Check out The Junc Room’s resident performances and get your groove on with Twerkshop and Shadow Photo Booth.
