Back to Back Theatre: The Democratic Set
Back to Back Theatre (Melbourne)
Do you have a secret? Can you keep a secret? What do you tell and what conceal? Why do we find secrets so delicious? And so shocking! Explore this theme, but be quick, you have 15 seconds.
The Democratic Set gives anyone the opportunity, regardless of their skill as a performer to participate in a creative project. In a completely blank purpose build set participants are asked to explore the grand theme of secret and what it means to them in any way they choose. Come dressed as your alter ego, scream out your deepest fantasy, whisper something delightful and unexpected, or just stand before the camera looking enigmatic.
The performances are filmed and edited into a work that will be screened during the festival and brings together performances that are certain to be insightful, funny, hard‐hitting and heartfelt, but above all, deeply human.
